Graduate Retreat September 2017: “The Hard Work of Hope”

THE HARD WORK OF HOPE

“…only kindness that raises its head from the crowd of the world to say

it is I you have been looking for, and then goes with you everywhere

like a shadow or a friend”.

Naomi Nye Shabbib

Currently, our world is a witness to many rough waves of collective crisis, from the United States election, to the catastrophe of Allepo, to calls to heal our planet.

Simultaneously, there are strong waves of hope coming from Native American voices at Standing Rock to the swell of young energies flowing forth to take care of our planet and our political system.

This is all part of creation and evolution. Old forms face destruction as they give way to powerful new creative gestures. This is true for both our personal transformation and at the collective.

We invite you to come together in our CIL community, to face what is calling for dissolution in your own being and to hear what is calling to be alive in your own life and for the world we long to emerge.

This is a time to practice in community, to support and witness one another in the hard work of seeding personal and collective hope. Our CIL practice of radical hope roots our intention to know who we are and to live that knowing from our essence, giving birth to creative beginnings for our own lives and for our world.

Come join our circle to enjoy meals and laughter as well as witness one another, in solitude, dream work, writing, art and movement.

We shall send readings of spirituality, psychology and neuroscience as we come closer.

And do remember, it will still be warm when we gather. Alexis’s gardens will welcome you into contemplation, and yes the pool to refresh you and now a labyrinth to walk just across the road.
